Akron Racquetball Club was formed with the goal of bringing a higher awareness of racquetball to the University of Akron. The club meets on campus on the courts in the ONAT once a week, typically Wednesday, to practice, play, and learn. Akron Racquetball Club is always looking for new members of any skill level and strives to keep an atmosphere which is friendly yet competitive.
As a whole, our club focus is personal fitness and well-being. Members are encourged to compete in many local tournaments, but are free to decide for themselves.
Each school year, Akron Racquetball Club attends roughly ten tournaments, including both state sanctioned and collegiate based tournaments, both of which are a great way to meet new people and a chance to see some incredible athleticism.
In the spring, Akron Racquetball Club hosts a seminar aimed at improving the fundementals of anyone wishing to participate. In the past, the club has hosted a tutorial/seminar with Andy Hawthorne, a nationally ranked professional racquetball player, and hopes to do so many more times in the future.
