The University of Akron Tennis Club Team came into existence in the Spring Semester of 2009 with the help of tennis enthusiasts around the university.
The Tennis Club is associate with the USTA's Tennis on Campus Program Midwest District.
Activities include practice and drill sessions for members as well as match play. Competitive members have the ability to travel and compete against other universities in the Midwest district under the World Team Tennis (WTT) format.
Activities will begin the fall semester and continue through the spring.
Practices are held in the Rec Center during bad weather conditions and outside at the universities courts. Home matches will be played at local indoor tennis facilities.
