CLIMBING WALL RULES

  • Chalk Policy

     

    All guests are to be accompanied/sponsored by a member and be at least 18 years of age with a government issued photo identification card.
  • Climbers must check in with the climbing wall staff on duty before they climb.
  • All climbers must be certified by climbing wall staff.
  • Registered climbers and climbing staff are the only ones allowed on the rubber at any time.
  • Everyone climbing must have a current waiver on file.
  • Proper climbing gear must be worn at all times.
  • Beware of climbers’ swing and fall zones.
  • No climbing is permitted without a spotter or belayer.
  • No food or drink on the rubber.
  • Climbing shoes must be worn when climbing.
  • No Bouldering above 10 feet.
  • No Topping out on boulder.
  • No Bouldering under roped climbers.
  • No personal harnesses (unless waiver is signed).
  • Climbing above top rope anchors is prohibited.
  • Climbers may be checked for safety protocols at any time.
  • Rock climbing/indoor wall climbing includes certain risks including but not limited to the risk of injury or death.
  • Staff reserves the right to ask you to leave if you create an unsafe environment.
  • Report any problems to climbing wall staff on duty immediately.
  • Violation of these policies is subject to disciplinary action or loss of privileges.

 

CLIMBING EQUIPMENT

All climbing equipment, including harnesses, belay devices and climbing shoes, are available for check-out. The harness, belay device, carabiner, and helmet are available at no charge. Climbing shoes are available for rent for $2.00 per visit. A 10 punch shoe rental pass can be purchased for $10.00.
Climbing shoes and helmets are required while climbing. Climbers are welcome to use their personal harness and shoes if approved by the Climbing Wall Supervisor on duty. All rental equipment must be checked out at the Information Office on the second floor (entrance level). Then bring the receipt to the climbing wall to get your equipment.
