Of the many benefits of fitness testing, the major use is to obtain the current physical fitness level of an individual. This is done by comparing your test results to other individuals of the same age and gender.

The physical fitness assessment includes testing the five components of physical fitness (aerobic capacity, body composition, muscular strength/endurance and flexibility). This confidential test will be completed by a Wellness Technician and will take approximately forty-five minutes.

The first evaluation performed can give the individual an idea of where their fitness levels are at the start of a program so that future testing can be compared to this and any changes can be noted. A baseline is especially important if you are about to embark on a new training phase. Subsequent tests should be planned for the end and start of each new phase.  Prior to performing a physical fitness assessment, each member is required to fill out  the following paperwork:

Each member of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center is eligible to receive one (1) free physical fitness assessment per year, each additional is $15 for both faculty/staff and student members.  In order to make an appointment for a physical fitness evaluation, please call Wellness Services at 330-972-6599 or stop into the Wellness Suite, SRWC 107.
