The University of Akron Police Department has long been a proponent of technology in police work.  
From it's humble entry into the world of computers with an International Business Machines (IBM) 8088 PC in the early 80's  to it's current day Hewlett Packard twin DL380 Clustered Servers, UAPD's investment in technology has assured that information collect by UAPD officers is readily available for use in the implementation of our mission.
