Call to order: 0942 hours Clayton Harris welcomed everyone

Approval of minutes from 14 August 01 meeting

Doug made a motion, Clayton seconded, minutes approved


IACLEA Adm O.J. Clark(University of Illinois) was a guest. He is here to

offer his assistance and is promoting the ICLEA conference in Cleveland.


Howard spoke about national sponsorship for conference. No decision has

been made as of yet. He has been in contact with Anheiser Busch. The

board has rewritten the policy.


The CCW vote was brought up. Howard has spoken to Hollister. The

amendment/exemption was added to the bill. The bill will leave the House

and die. The bill will come back next year and probably pass.


2002-2003 meeting locations


February 2002 - Stark State

May 2002 - Lakeland Community College

August 2002 - Findlay University

November 2002 - Muskingum

February 2003 - Capital University


Leave current officers as is for 2002-2003

Brian Hurd - IACLEA Conference

He will be meeting with the Greater Cleveland Convention Bureau

Cleveland Indians in the bag-possible picnic in the park

Cleveland Metro Zoo-children's event-food service, t-shirts


Good Time 3 - $4000.00, food, 400 people

Rock and Roll hall of Fame - great venue

Phil Dirt and the Dozers $10,0000/$7,000 not interested

negotiate with Rick K and the All Nighters, they are from the general area

and their cost $3200.00

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will provide sound and light person-Howard

secured a person $200.00

Sound person needs accommodations for the night-no problem

Looking for funding


OCLEA has $4500.00 in the bank

No cost to the delegates-has precedent

Need $20,000 to pull off events


Pepsi-asked for $5000-very close to being complete, pay for the band


Make donation checks out to OCLEA


Monday of the conference-Trip to Longaburger basket company(discount), has

been approved, will be a charged event, bus will leave Cleveland, a tour

guide on each bus, hands-on and gift basket at end of tour. Lunch will be

set up there.

Rosco Village-old shops, brick streets ( on way back)?


Lake Front is willing to help us out, cover expenses (discount)

20 vendors confirmed at National level, need local vendors

protocol, Ohio Department of Health no clarification on how to access credible threat

Howard, Doug, Dan, Bowling Green officer will be at the Olympics and will

be commissioned as Utah Police Officers for the month of February
