Call to Order at 1030 hours by President Newbanks

Minutes from the February 22, 2001 were Approved

Treasurer's Report by Brian Hurd as of 4/30/01 $3, 735.78

Brian stated he would have dues sheet out the week of May 21, 2001

• ICLEA conference update: Brian and Doug met with Peter Berry at the Renaissance
• They received a list of conference host duties
• They were told they did not have to get going until summer, they want to get started
• Howard spoke to Indians Rep., has some ideas
• Need to work on the "Event"
• OCLEA volunteers needed to help with conference;
  • 30-40 people to help with office, copies,
  • checking people in,
  • logistics
  • Everyone needs to chip in 1 or 2 people from each department
• As a group, come up with local and national vendors
• 1 university is needed to donate transportation fleet
  • ICLEA will pay for fuel
• Corporate sponsorship
  • Howard is in contact with Greyhound and Lake Front, Indians
  • A formal request and presentation should be prepared
• Need to approach OACP/FOP-Brian will announce via OCLEA letterhead
• University to provide housing on campus
  • Aramark to provide food
• 2002 ICLEA Conference dates June 29, 30, July 1 and 2
• Exhibit space $ Sponsorship
• Free stuff for packets

  • -train individual in region to audit Clery Requirements to ensure it is being done correctly
  • Train the Trainer-establish a committee to go to schools in Ohio

  • Request for policies regarding trips made by organization advisor,
    • more than 50 miles,
    • more than 1 mile

    • Issue in Cleveland-smaller department
    • 2901.01 definitions 1713.50 not listed not a problem just a glitch (Adm),
    • we as an organization need to clean this up
    • Need to take action, Howard we need to make a formal request
    • Rex-draw up draft, sent to Rex or bring to next meeting send copy to Legislator's and Attorney General's Office
