Three officers ready to rumble on Saturday night at Demolition Derby
UAPD's Cpl. Stachowiak, Officer Burnette and Officer Lohrum will battle it out against other police and firemen in the Greg's towing Police and Fire Demolition Derby held at Barberton Speedway on September 9th. The event is designed to raise funds for Children's Hospital and to have a good time. Officers Burnette and Lohrum participated last year and report that it was a blast! The officers spent the weekend tearing the interiors out of the vehicles along with all the glass. The gas tanks were repositioned to protect them. The doors, trunks and hoods are all secured to keep them from flying open. Barberton speedway will have season championship races starting at 6:00 PM with the demolition derby slated to start around 9:00 PM. It's sure to be a bang up time!
