Members of The University of Akron Police Department along with a representative of the City of Akron Police Department held a crime prevention presentation at the Student Union on Wednesday December 6th. Presented in response to community concern about criminal activity in the area, Chief Callahan presented information designed to help students stay safe and avoid becoming a victim. Along with Chief Callahan were UAPD's Major Engle, Captain Grad, Captain Weber, Sgt. Gooding and Sgt. Wykoff. Officer James Connelly, a crime prevention officer with the City of Akron Police Department, spoke on the efforts that their department is undertaking to make our community safe as well. After opening presentations, the floor was opened to attendees to ask question and voice their concerns.
