UAGRAD HIT by Motorist
UA Graduate and Past UAPD student dispatcher hit by motorist, now in coma
Graduating from the University of Akron just last spring, Kade Kotheimer resigned from UAPD as a part time dispatcher to move to Indiana to get married and become a fire fighter for the Speedway Fire Department. Unfortunately, Kade was involved in a fender bender and while exchanging information with the other driver, was struck by a non licensed motorist. Kade was thrown 70 feet into oncoming traffic where he was struck by another car sustaining massive injuries. Kade was rushed to the hospital and has held on though his injuries are numerous and severe. Though still in a coma, Kade has moved his arms and legs and has even opened his eyes (not considered as coming out of his coma state) . Several fund raisers have been held in Speedway, Boardman, Hudson, and Akron. For more information on Kade, please visit the Speedway Fire Department web site at http://www.speedwayfire.org/
