UAPD purchases Redi Alert Sign

University Police Purchase RediAlert sign to Notify Public!
Anyone who has sat in the wrong lane in traffic while other lanes are moving, knows that knowledge is power.  To help disseminate knowledge to our community about anything from traffic tie-ups to important upcoming events, UAPD recently purchased a portable, programmable sign known as RediAlert.  RediAlert can be set up within minutes to help communicate important safety information.  "This is an amazing piece of technology that we feel is an important part of our mission to provide quality services to our community",  stated Chief Callahan.  The RediAlert sign has already been utilized by University of Akron Police in the dorm move in process as well as being set up for training purposes to help welcome students back on campus.  Anticipated uses for the sign are: Athletic events, heavily attended E.J. Thomas events,  dignitary protection details,  street closures, crime prevention information campaigns as well as a host of other uses.  Watch for it on campus!
