Captain MacFarland Retires

Captain MacFarland retires

On September 13th, UAPD formally recognized Captain Dennis MacFarland for his years of service. Captain MacFarland has been the division commander of the services division for the last 5 years, supervising dispatch, special events and crime prevention. If Captain MacFarland seems familiar to you, for the last 6 years almost every oncoming freshman to the campus attended an orientation program that was presented by one of the UAPD crime prevention staff. Although Captain MacFarland may not have given every presentation, he certainly presented quite a few! "He will be sorely missed" commented Chief Callahan, " now he will have time to work on his golf game" he continued. Although Captain MacFarlands golf handicap is in the double digit range, it is interesting to note that he does have a hole in one to his credit. Captain MacFarland stated "Now that I am going to be home, I know that I will be running the household". "Especially running the sweeper, the dishwasher and running to the store", he quipped. As you can see by his sense of humor, UAPD is definitely losing a great personality!
