Resource statement:
By deleting the Careers in Communication class as a requirement in our core classes, we are freeing some resources, either part-time faculty, full-time faculty or graduate assistants. In adding the two credit hours in each major's communication electives, we are not increasing our demand for classes, but simply allowing more flexibility and variety for communication majors. Elective credits include any course offered by the School of Communciation, allowing a variety of options for students that does not increase the demand on our resources (whether full-time or part-time faculty or graduate assistants). Communication majors typically take more communication courses than needed for their major already, including elective credits.
Web components statement:
Rationale:
To allow appropriate flexibility within majors and to maintain a standard number of credit hours.
