Resource statement:
No new resources are needed. 7800:274 Digital Technology for Theatre is being taught simultaneously with 7900:274 Digital Technology for Dance (same time, same instructor). 7800:472 Methods of Teaching Elementary Theatre Arts and 7800:473 Methods of Teaching Secondary Theatre will be instructed by faculty who previously taught 7800:470 Theatre in Education.
Web components statement:
none
Rationale:
7800:470 Theatre in Education (3 credits) had too much content for a single course. The ODE suggested dropping this course and creating two classes that covered elementary and secondary areas separately. This will serve the licensure in Theatre more effectively. Adding these two options in place of Theatre in Education does not change the credit allotment for the BA Theatre degree. See FAA 08 041 regarding the course number change (from 7800:200 to 7800:300) to Theatre Organization and Management

7800:274 Digital Technology for Theatre (3 credits) is being added to the degree requirements. This brings required theatre credits up to 57 credits. Elective credits are reduced to 15 (from 18) to keep the total degree credits at 128. Per the Ohio Department of Education, 7800:470 Theatre in Education 3 (See FAA 08 056) is being deleted and 7800:472 Methods of Teaching Elementary Theatre Arts 3 cr (See FAA-08-060) and 7800:473 Methods of Teaching Secondary Theatre Arts 3 cr (See FAA-08-061)are replacing this course.
