Resource statement:
No additional resources are required.
Web components statement:
N/A
Rationale:
The prime objective of this AAS degree is to prepare graduates to become certified surveying technicians. The NSPS, CST exam program provides that certification.

2030:255 Tech. Calculus II -
Move to BS degree program. ABET(our accreditation agency)does not require calculus in the AAS degree.

2820:163 & 164 Tech. Physics Elect. & Mag. and Heat & Light courses-
Course no longer required by our ABET (our accreditation agency).
Replacing with 3370:101 Introductory Physical Geology (4 credits).
Surveyors are involved in the planning stages and are the first on the ground in land development operations. A general knowledge of environmental Science and Physical Geology on the project area would be very helpful in the land development design stage.

2940:210 Computer Aided Drawing I -
AutoCAD as a stand alone drawing program had been replaced by Land Development software. Land Development software is currently taught in 2980:355. That course, Computer Applications in Surveying, is being expanded from 2 credits to 3 credits. The two additional credit hours gained with the deletion of this course will allow us to reduce the total credits required in the AAS degree program from 68 to 66.
