Rationale:
The Department of Sociology is proposing changes to the curriculum which will be more consistent with our focus on academic criminology and serving the variety of career goals of our students. These changes reflect an increased emphasis on developing writing skills, fostering critical thinking about criminological issues, and engaging in the evaluation of empirical research. For students interested in a career in local, state, or federal law enforcement, other courses outside of Criminal Justice Technology may be more relevant.
