Brief Summary of ProposalThis curriculum change is being presented as a result of input from the Medical Office Advisory Committee and current and former students. There is greater need for additional computer software knowledge, especially the use of spreadsheet software to prepare medical office financial reports. The addition of 2440:125 Spreadsheet Software should meet this need. Students in the Health Care Office Management program are currently required to take 2540:121 Introduction to Office Procedures which is geared to secretaries and administrative assistants, not managers. It is proposed that this course no longer be a requirement of the program. An increase in the credit hours for 2530:260 Health Care Office Management Internship from 2 to 3 hours is also being requested.
