Brief Summary of ProposalThis course is designed to be an overview of the practice of probation and parole. Current issues related to the community control, management, and sanctioning of criminal offenders are a main focus of this class. Specific topics covered in this class include recent correctional interventions such as Re-entry, Community Justice, and Restorative Justice. Additional topics include case management practices, offender assessments, and effectiveness of community corrections are discussed.
