| Brief Summary of Proposal | This course provides an overview of common activities and practices of prisons in the United States. The goal of this course is to familiarize the student with various approaches to corrections, correctional institutions, inmates, programs and managment. Special problems such as riots, prison violence, and outside contracts are also addressed. Additional topics include prisoner rights, correctional officers and case management. |
