Brief Summary of ProposalNo longer require 5540: Physical Education. Require only one of 2040:242 American Urban Society or 2040:247 Survey of Basic Economics, not both. Replace 2820:131 Software Applications for Technology with a new course, 2860:121 Introduction to Electronics and Computers. Change 2860:120 DC Circuits to 2860:120 Circuit Fundamentals. Increase credit hours from 3 to 4 for each of the three courses, 2860:123 Electronic Devices, 2860:225 Electronic Device Applications, and 2860:251 Communications Circuits. Change names of 2860:225 Electronic Device Applications to Applications of Electronic Devices, and 2860:251 Communication Circuits to Electronic Communications. No longer require 2860:122 AC Circuits, thus changing the prerequisites for 2860:123 Electronic Devices, 2860:136 Digital Fundamentals, and 2860:242 Machinery and Controls. Prerequisite changes are also needed for 2860:225 Electronic Device Applications and 2860:251 Electronic Communications. Overall credit hours requirements for AAS ECET will change from 71 to 68.
