Brief Summary of ProposalThis is a proposal for a new course based on the use of metals in medicine. Metal based medicines are of high importance in cancer therapy, imaging, and as antimicrobials. This course will cover the synthesis and development of a variety of these compounds including the tumor drug cisplatin, technetium 99m based imaging agents, and silver antimicrobials.
