| Brief Summary of Proposal | The Department proposes to change the title of its MS in Geography degree.
Current title: MS in Geography
Proposed title: MS in Geography/Geographic Information Sciences
This change will: (1) reflect significant changes in practice and terminology in the field of geography that have led to widespread use of the term "Geographic Information Sciences" to describe the scientific and technical components of the discipline, and (2) better reflect the nature of the education that students currently receive in the MS degree and the types of careers that they pursue. |
