Brief Summary of ProposalIn Fall 2003, the Canadian Studies interdisciplinary certificate program was suspended due to lack of resources. Since that time, there has been no significant change in availability of additional resources--nor is there any indication of any changes in the immediate future. Also, it appears that the interest in continuing this program has waned due primarily to the retirement of the former director of the program. Therefore, the College is recommending that the certificate program be deleted from the University offerings. The entire category 3005: Canadian Studies as it is currently listed in the 2004-2005 Undergraduate Bulletin (p. 188 & 227) should be DELETED. Course Deletions for 3005:300 Canadian Studies: An Interdisciplinary Approach and 3005:498 Independent Study have also been included in this curriculum proposal. The course 3005:300 Canadian Studies: An Interdisciplinary Approach is currently a general education course under Area Studies & Cultural Diversity. Therefore, it will no longer be available effective Fall 2005.
