| Brief Summary of Proposal | When a student registers for 3250:201 (Principles of Macroeconomics)the system does not check to see if they have satisfied the pre-requisite 3250:200 (Principles of Microeconomics). (3250:200 is listed in the Bulletin as a pre-requisite for 3250:201 and instructors of the latter course assume that students have a background of some of the tools and concepts taught in the former course.) As a result each semester there are several students enrolled in 3250:201 who have not met the pre-requisite. Department faculty do their best to identify such individuals and get them registered for the proper course but a much better solution is to have the pre-requisite checked at the time of registration. |
