| Brief Summary of Proposal | This is a blanket proposal to change prerequisites for all 500-, and 600-level graduate level courses in physics (3650) from specific course numbers to “Admission to the Physics Master’s program or permission”.
Rationale: The Academic Policies Committee (APC) of Faculty Senate has passed a resolution that has resulted in prerequisite checking being turned on in PeopleSoft by default. This may lead to the situation where transfer students, who do not have these UA prerequisites, may encounter problems when trying to register. Removing the prerequisite check will help to avoid this problem. The current blanket proposal will bring us into compliance with the APC resolution. It will also allow most students to register by themselves and will not require the physics department administrative assistant to manually register them.
