| Brief Summary of Proposal | In order for students to maintain a consistent level of algebraic skill throughout the entire Technical Mathematics sequence of courses (TM I,II,III, and IV), and in order for them to be appropriately prepared for Technical Calculus I and II, it has been found necessary to include a review of factoring and algebraic fractions in TM III. In addition, many students taking TM III begin their mathematical course work with TM II instead of TM I, hence a review of factoring and fractions, topics covered in TM I, increases their chances of successfully completing Technical Mathematics sequence of courses.
2) Vectors are covered in great detail in the Engineering and Science Technology Department's mechanics course and, therefore, can be eliminated from TM III without any loss to our students. (Note: Discussions have been held with the Engineering and Science Technology faculty regarding this issue.)
