| Brief Summary of Proposal | This course is modeled after courses used in many doctoral programs, though most typically in the natural sciences. Students enrolled in the directed research course are expected to significantly contribute to the creation of knowledge in his/her chosen area of specialization within the doctoral program. Students are expected to work closely with the advising faculty member to outline and develop his/her proposed research experience and demonstrate that the research is likely to result in a significant scholarly contribution. |
