| Brief Summary of Proposal | This course has been taught three times as a special topics course. Public employees unions are the most rapidly growing segment of unionization. Public managers need to understand the public-specific rules which define labor-management relations in the public sector. Therefore this course is a necessary complement to the Public Personnel Management class required for those seeking the MPA degree. The department currently employees a skilled and experienced public sector personnel director as a part-time time faculty member to teach this course, but there are at least three persons on the faculty with the academic credentials and experience to teach the course. |
