Brief Summary of ProposalTo create a new option in the Community Services Program. This degree will prepare graduates for licensing as chemical dependency counselors in the State of Ohio by providing the educational requirements and concomitant knowledge base required for the licensing exam. It addresses the workforce initiative underway by ODADAS (Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services) and OAADAC (Ohio Association of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors) to attract professionals to the addiction field in order to meet the projected workforce shortage.
