Brief Summary of ProposalChange credit hours of 2230:100 Introduction to Fire Protection from 3 to 4 credits. Change the names of 2230:205 Fire Detection and Suppression Systems I and 2230:206 Fire Detection and Suppression Systems II. Delete 2940:180 Introduction to Computer Aided Drafting as a required course. Delete 2230:xxx Technical Electives, 4 credits and replace with 2230:295 Fire Protection Internship, with a name change, as a capstone course. Delete 2230:290 Special topics in Fire Protection and 2230:294 Advanced Fire Investigation Methods. Add 7600:106 Effective Oral Communication and 2540:263 Personal Communication and Presentations as OR courses. These program changes will put the Fire Protection Technology degree program more in line with the national model curriculum for fire protection.
