Brief Summary of ProposalWayne College is proposing suspension of the Environmental Health and Safety Technology associate degree program to new student admissions. This action is based on low admission and nominal enrollment numbers for the past several years and dwindling job opportunities in the college’s service area. During 2008-2009, reviews of program viability indicators, including market and employment data, will be used to determine if this program will be reopened. If these indicators do not show sufficient evidence to support reopening the program to new student admissions, permanent closure of the program will be proposed no later than Fall 2009.
