| Brief Summary of Proposal | We are creating separate Special Studies courses at the 400 level for that will allow us fine tune DARS. Rather than one general Special Studies number (3400:493), we are creating one for each of our distributional areas: 1) 493: North American history; 2) 495: European history; 3) 496 Other (as well as their 500-level equivalents: 593, 595, 596). DARS can then be configured to give students appropriate credit for their distribution reqs for the history major rather than handling them as exceptions. This Special Studies: Other is submitted as a new course number. See proposals AS-08-037 through AS-08-042. |
