Brief Summary of ProposalThis course will replace Concepts of Calculus for the Middle Level Education Majors with a mathematics concentration, exposing them to modeling of real world situations and the connections between the middle school mathematics curriculum and calculus. The pre-service teachers will see why what they will be teaching is the gateway to their studentsí continuing education in mathematics and the sciences.
