Brief Summary of ProposalIn keeping with College and University initiatives toward globalizing the curriculum, this new course, 3400:221 Humanities in the World Since 1300, expands the content coverage of the present 3400:211, and will introduce students to global cultural exchanges since the fourteenth century. Although the "West," the exclusive focus of the present 3400:211, will not be neglected, the aim is to situate the humanities in a much wider context that includes intercultural exchanges on a global scale. This course will replace 211 (which we will delete next academic year), and students will be able to choose to take either 210 or 221 for the required Humanites course.
