| Brief Summary of Proposal | We are proposing a title change for the undergraduate history course 3400: 378, currently entitled "Colonial Latin America" to "Spanish Conquest and Colonization of the Americas." This title change would affect this course as listed in the History Major section of the Undergraduate Bulletin as well as in the list of courses of the Latin American Studies Certificate program. The rationale for this proposal is to make the title of the course more focused, clear, and appealing even for undergraduate students who may not be familiar with the periodization of Latin American history. This will help in increasing enrollments not only from History majors, but from students majoring in other disciplines, such as Education, Spanish, etc. |
