| Brief Summary of Proposal | Adjust program course lineup to allow student to work with advisor in constructing an academic program tailored to their career interests and goals, both for careers in academic criminology and as well as applied criminology (e.g., local, state, or federal law enforcement). By eliminating coursework requirements in Criminal Justice Technology, students will have more flexibility to select courses that enhance their chances of gaining employment in their chosen career (e.g., students who wish to gain specialized employment with the FBI may be better served by taking additional credits in one or more foreign languages or coursework in accounting than courses in Criminal Justice Technology). Students are still welcome to take Criminal Justice Technology courses if these courses fit with their career goals. |
