| Brief Summary of Proposal | Our several archaeologists are experts in analysis of different archaeological materials. Currently, this course is a broad overview of and introduction to the range of archaeological materials and approaches to their analysis. To fully exploit the range of faculty expertise, we propose to slightly revise the course. We will retain broad coverage of major categories of materials, but each offering of the course will emphasize in somewhat greater detail a material in which one faculty member is an authority. Matney's version will emphasize ceramic analysis, Thompson's metallurgy, Shott's lithic analysis, and Mancz's zooarchaeological analysis. |
