Brief Summary of ProposalThe Department of History is streamlining the graduate research seminar by creating a single research (writing) seminar for graduate students, and deleting all the writing seminars. We are entitling the new course “Graduate Research Seminar in History” and numbering it 601, which will signal that it is inclusive of all areas and common to all graduate students and faculty. This approach also allows us to manage scheduling and graduate course enrollments more effectively. We are also adding a one credit course "Option Paper Completion," 3400:602 for the semester that MA students are completing their research option papers.
