| Brief Summary of Proposal | This proposal is written only to clarify how courses have been offered per the Higher Learning Commission’s (HLC) new definition of distance education. Prior to the June 2010 policy change, courses that were offered by Distance Learning (DL) technology did not fall into the definition of Distance Education as defined by the HLC. Coursework in the program may be (traditionally has been) offered in the DL format. This proposal only addresses the HLC policy 3.2 that courses offered in a DL format must be reported to the HLC. Formal acceptance of this proposal is necessary so the reporting departments on campus are fully aware of the potential of DL offerings within the program. |
