Dr. Hardin received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The Ohio State University in 1973. Before joining the faculty
at The University of Akron in 1981, she was employed as a full-time psychologist in the counseling centers of the University
of Wisconsin-Lacrosse (1972-74) and Virginia Tech (1974-81). Her theoretical perspective is systematic eclecticism based
on a relationship/process orientation. Research interests include counseling process, supervision, outcome, vocational
psychology, and gender effects. Graduate courses typically taught are beginning and advanced practica, counseling methods,
professional ethical issues and theories of counseling and psychotherapy. Publication outlets are the Journal of Counseling
Psychology, the Journal of Vocational Behavior, the Journal of Counseling and Development and others .
