Great Lakes Conference 2010
"Counseling Psychology: Expanding the Horizon"
The Collaborative Program in Counseling Psychology at the University of Akron is pleased to host the 2010 Great Lakes Conference! The Great Lakes regional conference is a special part of the history of counseling psychology, being the only continuing regional conference initiated by recommendations from the 1987 Third National Conference on Counseling Psychology. Now in its 23rd year, the Great Lakes conferences have served faculty and students alike as one of the most collegial conferences in the country featuring the specialty of counseling psychology and the work of counseling psychologists.
This year, we highlight the cutting edge of counseling psychology science, practice, and training. We especially encourage proposals that involve innovative topics, new theories, work with new populations, or innovative approaches to traditional areas of the discipline.
We are also very pleased to welcome the President of the Society of Counseling Psychology, Dr. John Westefeld, as our keynote speaker!
Please join us for this special 23rd annual conference on April 16-17, 2010! Details on registration and accommodations will soon be available, but the Call for Proposals is now live (see the link above). Please feel free to contact the conference coordinators, Drs. Kuldhir Bhati (ksb@uakron.edu), Suzette Speight (slspeig@uakron.edu), and Linda Subich (subich@uakron.edu), for answers to any conference related questions.
