Objectives and Goals

The NAPM-Akron Board and Committee Chairs have established these objectives and goals for the 2004 through 2008 years. This plan will be reviewed each succeeding year and extended to the years beyond 2004.

  • Increase membership by identifying NAPM-Akron's market and selling the importance of/value of Purchasing to key managers/executives within our target market. This includes the development of a retention program to reduce the number of lost members.
  • Increase C.P.M. and/or A.P.P. certification of membership by providing strong professionalism/career development opportunities to include the involvement of local colleges/universities.
  • Improve the quality of ALL programs to make NAPM-Akron a more attractive and professional organization as measured by the increase of attendance at these programs (meetings and/or seminars).
  • Improve the quality of our affiliate newsletter (NAPM-Akron News) so as to be recognized as a highly informative, professional and educational form of media. This is to include a measurable increase in hard copy and electronic distribution.
  • Enhance the quality of our affiliate web site so as to be recognized as a highly informative, professional and educational form of media. This is to include promotion, training, ease of accessibility, URL name change (to NAPM-Akron.org), etc. along with a measurable increase in 'hits'.
