Speaker Mark Williamson - Director of Communications , City of Akron

Topic: Akron: America's Biggest Small Town

 

Mark Williamson, as press secretary to Don Plusquellic, the Mayor Of Akron and President of the United States Conference of Mayors, has a front row seat to the inner workings of city government and Akron's status among U.S. cities.  With this perspective Mark will share his view of Akron as a business, education, and cultural center.

 

As Director of Communications, Mark Williamson joined the staff of Mayor Don Plusquellic in April of 1996, is responsible for handling and releasing information that comes from virtually every department within  the municipal government. As press secretary to the mayor, he manages the release of all news from City Hall, produces regular news conferences, writes the mayor's speeches and oversees the release of correspondence from the Mayor's Office. Don't miss out on this exciting speaker who will inform and entertain us after dinner.
