Dinner Meeting (no ProD this month) October Fest and Bosses’ Night – invite
your boss today and don’t miss out! “Value Chain Management” - Jeffrey Lubash,
CFPIM, CIRM, C.P.M., BSE, MBA …is an NAPM costs
is a common challenge in today’s competitive environment. With customers regularly asking for
“Better, Faster, and
Cheaper (lower price)” products and services, continuous improvement
has become a mandatory activity. Many
companies have been doing improvement activities for a while, and have
already captured the easy opportunities. They’re
starting to wonder where to look for that next step-up in performance. After
picking the low hanging fruit in your own area, it may be time to broaden
your scope into other areas, both within
your own company as well as with other value chain participants. However, crossing organizational
boundaries brings
additional challenges. Value
Chain Management provides numerous proven tools and techniques to address these
challenges, as well as enabling faster improvement on your “home
turf”. This
after-dinner presentation will provide an overview of Value Chain Management,
and advice on how to use it’s toolkits to
increase profits and cash-flow. Jeffrey
is president of Affiliated Services Group, Ltd., a management consulting firm
for manufacturers. Jeff’s
specialties include implementing Operational
Excellence methods such as Lean Enterprise, Value Chain Management, Six Sigma
and High Performance Workplace. Dinner meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday
of each month September through May (except December) We would
like to see you at many of our activities this year. Click here

ISM Dues Increase Planned
(please consider this (and our web site posting) your
official notice of a dues increase – a membership vote is forthcoming)
In August 2004, the ISM Board of
Directors approved an increase in ISM national annual dues. The ISM Regular
Member dues will increase
by $10 to $155 per year for an NAPM Akron membership. The increase is based on a review by
the ISM Board of Directors
of ISM's financial position and strategic plan at
the May 2003 and August 2003 meetings. Your upcoming voting
approval of this increase will allow NAPM Akron to retain it’s current
portion of the overall dues of $55…otherwise, we
would have to absorb the entire $10 increase. Our membership will be
asked to vote on this increase and your Board will prepare and recommend the
appropriate voting direction
in a future communication. Again, this is
simply an advisory of an upcoming vote for a dues increase |
