David Halter was born and raised in Massillon, Ohio where he lived most of his life and now lives, except for the thirty years and six months he spent in the aviation branch of the US Coast Guard.
When he was stationed in Alaska David earned an Associate of Arts degree from the University of Alaska by attending classes in the evenings. He retired from the USCG in 1994 and completed his formal education at Kent State University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree.
While stationed in the Philippines he met and married (1967) his best friend and the love of his life, Naomi. They now have three children, Ronald, Jonathan and Ruth Ann and six Grandchildren.
Now retired David loves to play music, fish, work on genealogy and travel, having visited or lived in over 35 countries in his lifetime. His music interests include playing the mountain dulcimer, bowed psaltery, autoharp and native American flute as well as playing at a couple of other instruments.
