Linda Perdue

Linda was born in Baltimore, MD, but grew-up in Portage Lakes and has lived in Stark County since 1984.

She started playing guitar about 4 years ago and also plays mandolin and a little banjo.

She joined Mixed-Up Strings three years ago.  She once won $50.00 in a talent contest playing “Cripple Creek” and “Amazing Grace” on her banjo! In addition to playing with MUS, she does gospel music programs for nursing homes around the Stark County area.

She has been married to Clarence for 23 years, and they have two children, four grandchildren, and one very spoiled toy poodle named “Taffy.”

"I began learning to play guitar about 4 years ago because of a desire to play music in church.  I had never played an instrument before, but due to the patience of 2 wonderful teachers, Joe Pinter and Del Sampson, learned to play - as long as it doesn't get too complicated.   (It's tough to learn new things when you reach a "certain age".  My gospel music ministry is my heart's desire.  I am, for the first time in my life, doing something that I can truly enjoy, knowing that others are edified by my music.  I really enjoy the MUS, although I don't get to participate as much as I would like, due to other engagements."

"And though I have the gift of prophesy; and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing".            1 Corinthians 13:2
