Dr. Richard E. Caplan

Richard E. Caplan (Ph.D., Wayne State University) teaches Survey of Mass Communication, Communication Research, American Film History (to 1945 and 1945 to present) and special topics classes in film. He is also graduate coordinator for the School.

Caplan's research interests focus on new technology and how the use of podcasts and video influence the student's attitudes toward learning.
