Dr. Phil Hoffman

Phil Hoffman (M.A., Ed.D.,  University of Akron) is the general manager of ZTV, the University's student television station. He also teaches Media classes.
An award-winning documentary producer, Hoffman has received three Emmy nominations for his documentaries including the rock docs, “It's Everything and Then It's Gone” and “If You're Not Dead, Play!!” which focused on Akron rock legends like Devo and The Pretenders. He has worked for many broadcasting companies, including:  WSLR-AM, WKDD-FM, WAKR-AM, WONE-FM, WOAC-TV, WAKC-TV, WTIG-AM, WCUE-AM, WAPS-FM, WNEO/WEAO-TV, BBC, ESPN.

Hoffman serves as the Education chair on the Board of Governors for the Lower Great Lakes Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He is an active member of the Broadcast Education Association (BEA), National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), and the University Film and Video Association (UFVA).
