Public relations is one of the most popular majors in the School of Communication. Students, who wish to major in Public Relations, should develop a variety of professional communication skills. They should be able to write and speak effectively; research, plan and implement programs; create promotional tools, and stage special events. Many Public Relations majors participate in the internship (LINK) program and have an opportunity to apply knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world situations. Public Relations professionals are employed by corporations, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, media, government agencies, and in fields such as sports and entertainment, education, health-care, and finance.
