9 win women-of-year awards,
celebration set for March 4

The Women's History Project of the Akron Area will honor nine at its 2008 Women of the Year Awards Ceremony March 4 at The University of Akron's Martin Center.
The nine women are:
Integrity: Tracy L. Carter, director of government relations, Summa;
Faye Dambrot (Heroine): Andrea Denton

Innovation: Marcella Kanfer Rolnick, co-founder of the Lippman Kanfer Institute for Innovation in Jewish Learning and Engagement at JESNA (Jewish Educational Service of North America);
Creativity: Jan Householder, founder of the Giving Doll Project;
Perservance: Janet B. Purnell, retired public school educator and University of Akron administrator;
Pioneer: Dr. Lynn Metzger, retired, The University of Akron;
Posthumous: Susan D. Pavloff, dedicated community volunteer;
Woman to Watch: Elizabeth Remmel, founder and creative director of iMMiX Studio Design Firm.
The new Elizabeth Buchtel Award, presented by the Women in Philanthropy at The University of Akron, will be given to Ann Amer Brennan.
These nine women will be recognized at the WHP Awards Dinner, March 4. Tickets are $50.

WHP honors "Women's Art: Women's Vision" in 2008
The Women's History Project of the Akron Area will be celebrating "Women's Art: Women's Vision" at its Women of the Year Awards dinner on March 4 at The University of Akron's Martin Center.
WHP explained this theme gives an opportunity to highlight the many contributions women have made as they have followed their creative and artistic vision.
